Mission
We will involve teens in providing a variety of activities, opportunities and services for each other in a safe, positive and inclusive environment.

We strive to create a strong community by fostering healthy relationships and youth leadership development.

The Basics

• Serving youth 13 – 19 years of age

• 4,000 square feet including a music room, computer room, counseling rooms and café area, as well as pool tables, ping-pong, air hockey, foosball, video games, couches, and chairs

• Located in the plaza next door to the YMCA (behind Fabric land)

• Activities: drop-in recreation; leadership development; employment services; counseling; housing information; life skills coaching; music lessons and jam space; dances; bands nights; sports; public health information and activates; and youth issues resource area

• Centre is led by the Youth Centre Council (consisting of primarily youth, but also 3 community adults and community organization representatives)

• No YMCA membership required – centre is fully accessible to all youth

• No cost

• On major bus routes
   

The Cambridge Youth Leadership Development Centre is operated by the YMCA of Cambridge in cooperation with:

• Cambridge Career Connections (John Howard Society)

• City of Cambridge

• Lutherwood Family Counseling

• Cambridge Steering Committee for Youth

• Cambridge Volunteer Bureau

• Region of Waterloo Public Health Department

• Waterloo Regional Police
